How is Days left calculated?
The tool measures the time from right now to the target date and rounds up to whole days, so a deadline 1.2 days away shows as 2 days left. Partial days always count in your favor as remaining time.
Why does the count change depending on when I check?
The countdown compares the target against the current time in your browser at the moment you calculate, so checking in the morning versus the evening can shift the rounded day count by one.
What time of day does the target date refer to?
The target is interpreted as the start of that calendar date in UTC. For most planning purposes this means the count reaches zero as the date begins rather than ends.
What happens if I pick a date in the past?
The Days left value goes negative and Status changes to Past, which doubles as a simple days-since counter for elapsed events.
Can I count down to a specific hour?
No, the input is a date picker without a time component, so the resolution is one day. For hour-level countdowns you would need a timer rather than a date calculator.
