Frequently asked questions
Is matching case-sensitive?
Yes. "Apple" and "apple" are treated as different lines. Run the text through the Case Converter first if you want case-insensitive deduplication.
Do leading or trailing spaces affect matching?
Yes, lines must match exactly, so "apple" and "apple " are considered different. Use the Whitespace Remover to normalize spacing beforehand.
Which copy of a duplicate is kept?
The first occurrence. Later repeats are dropped, and the remaining lines stay in their original order rather than being sorted.
Are blank lines deduplicated too?
Yes. Empty lines are treated like any other line, so only the first blank line survives; the rest are removed.
